Université Laval and the PEPS: What to See on Campus, Minutes From Sainte-Foy

Special OffersUniversité Laval and the PEPS: What to See on Campus, Minutes From Sainte-Foy

The Université Laval campus is Hôtel Classique’s immediate neighbour — about five minutes by car, or a twenty-minute walk along chemin Sainte-Foy. It is one of the least known assets of the area, and one of the most useful to know about.

Whether you are accompanying a student, attending a conference, or simply looking for green space to move in, the campus is worth a stop.

The PEPS: Eastern Canada’s largest university sports complex

The Pavillon de l’éducation physique et des sports, at 2380 rue du PEPS, is far more than a university gym. It is the largest university sports complex in Eastern Canada, and a good share of its facilities are open to the general public.

Facilities include an Olympic pool, a recreational pool with water features for families, an indoor soccer stadium, an amphitheatre-gymnasium, tennis and basketball courts, a fitness centre and two ice rinks.

TELUS-Université Laval Stadium and the Rouge et Or

The TELUS-Université Laval Stadium hosts the Rouge et Or, one of the most decorated university football programs in the country. Attending a fall game in a packed stadium is one of those distinctly Québécois experiences visitors almost always miss.

The Rouge et Or schedule typically runs from late August to late October. Tickets for rivalry games move fast — check availability before your stay.

A campus made for walking

Beyond the sports facilities, the campus offers landscaped grounds, wooded areas, trails and a pleasant pedestrian network in every season. In winter, several paths are maintained and the campus becomes a quiet place to walk, minutes from boulevard Laurier.

Conferences, competitions and campus visits

Université Laval hosts numerous conferences, symposiums and sports competitions each year. For out-of-town participants, staying on boulevard Laurier means being minutes from campus while keeping easy access to restaurants, shops and the highway network.

The same applies to families visiting a student for orientation week, a campus tour or a graduation ceremony.
